RDP Connect with Options: SFTP & Terminal

Since OpenSSH is provisioned as default on our Windows Servers, it would be great if the Ad-Hoc connection dropdown could be configured with a connect with SSH / SFTP like the Terminal connections currently do. This would reuse the same connection details and credential but instead connect using ssh.

Hi!

You can already do that by either changing your default file transfer connection settings to use SFTP or by creating a connection template, configured with SFTP and use that in the ad hoc drop down instead of the default file transfer settings.

Let me know if you need more info on how to do any of those things.

Cheers,
Felix

Hi Felix, that would be great, but I just realised re-reading my original post I never clarified that I would like to see this for RDP connections. Is it still possible using the method you described?

Oh I thought you were referring to using the ad hoc connection field in the toolbar.

For opening a connection based on another connection using a different protocol you can use connection templates. Here’s a blog post that goes into more details regarding templates.
