My issue is pretty much the same as the issue described here:

The difference is the solve for that particular trigger of the issue does not resolve mine. I keep RoyalTSX on a dedicated workspace, and I flip between workspaces regularly while doing work. I had this same workflow on Windows with RoyalTS, with the same key bindings to do so, but never ran into this issue with the stuck modifier keys (Cmd/Ctrl specifically, but could be affecting others and I just haven’t noticed.).
Based on the solution to the prior issue I referenced, I suspect my issue could be resolved by simply polling all the modifier keys at a regular interval, and setting them to released if not pressed as is done on wake-up/login for the previous issue. The poll would not need to be insanely aggressive. Somewhere between 200ms to 500ms, or even if it could be configurable, that would be great and would resolve this very troublesome problem.
This issue is my only gripe with RoyalTSX since changing from Windows to Mac recently at work. But if there is no real solution for it, I’ll probably have to find another tool.
Hoping for a positive outcome. But if this is not in the cards, I understand. Either way, thanks for hearing me out.

Hi,
the current [Royal TSX V26 Beta](https://community.royalapps.com/t/royal-tsx-beta-release-notes/2214/14) with the most up to date FreeRDP plugin should handle cases of stuck modifier keys much better than previous versions. Can you please give the betas a try and let me know if you still run into the issue?

Thanks Felix! I’m attempting to test, but it seems that none of my RDP connections are working after the update. I’m troubleshooting currently.
It also thinks that it crashed even when quitting the proper way through the menu bar.

Don’t know what the issue is still. Rolling back to the last GA release allows me to connect again. I did look at the logs, and between the connection and disconnection, when trying with the beta, and all I saw was “freerdp helper did not produce output” messages a few times.

Hmm, maybe something went wrong during the update. Can you please try again? At the first launch after updating the app, a dialog about plugin updates should come up. Please update all of them and restart the app afterwards. For your own info, here is a filtered Debug log for my connection attempts after startup on the latest beta with the latest FreeRDP plugin.
Seems there are several issues loading Mono runtime types, and an Xml assembly. Perhaps that is where the issue is?

thx for reporting this and sending the log and crash reports. We’ve identified [the issue](https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/issues/13524), implemented a workaround and released an updated version (v26.0.14) of the FreeRDP plugin that includes it.
Please update to the latest plugin version and let us know if that fixes the issue.

That did indeed fix my ability to connect with the latest betas of RoyalTSX and the FreeRDP plugin.
Unfortunately, my modifier key issue persists. For context, the modifier key that gets stuck for me is the Command key. I use a combination of Control, Command, and Arrow keys to change between workspaces. When I return to the workspace where RoyalTSX is open, the currently focused RDP session is the one that experiences the stuck key. (It is possible that Control is also stuck, but since I have Command set to be interpreted as Control when remoting into a Windows host, it’s hard to know for sure.) Pressing and releasing Command clears the issue.

I saw your reply and I looked into ways to handle this so that modifier keys don’t get stuck at all when using system shortcuts (many cases are already handled today, but as in your case, some slip through).
Unfortunately it’s very hard to accomplish 100% coverage without regressing in other areas. Doing this the right way requires careful planning and a lot of testing. So, I still have this on my radar but I’ll need more time to think it through to get it right.
